Another Quick Multiplication example

(follow the color of the numbers for reference)

Here is another example of quick multiplication of two 3 digits number
Steps are as follows
1) Place the two number one of top of the other as shown above.

2) From right to left multiply the first two digits - ie 5 x 2 which give you 10

3) Write down '0' as the answer right hand digit and make a mental carry 1.

4) Next get the sum of (7 x 2)+ (8 x 5) and the 1 carry from previous calculation this will give you an answer of 55.

5) Write down '5' on the left site of the '0' as the answer and make a mental carry of 5.

6) Next get the sum of (2 x 2)+(7x8)+(5x5) and the 5 carry from previous calculation this will give you an answer of 90.

7) Write down 0 on the left side of the 5 as the answer and make a mental carry of 9.

8) Next get the sum of (2x8)+(7x5) and the 9 carry from previous calculation this will give you an answer of 60.

9) Write down 0 on the left side of the 0 as the answer and make a mental carry of 6.

10) Finally get the sum of (2x5) and the 6carry of the previous calculation this will give you an answer of 16.

11) Write 16 on the left hand side of the last 0.

12) The final answer is 160050

With some practice the calculation can be perform mentally and you just have to write the answer from right to left ie in the example 050061.
